Christian Mystics Musings

Christian Mystic is not an oxymoron. Christian Mystics have been around all throughout the history of the Church, starting with the likes of Mary Magdalene and John the Beloved from the New Testament to Madame Jeanne Guyon (1648-1717) and Brother Lawrence (1614-1691) and many unknown brothers and sisters in Jesus to this very day. Many of us believers in the West have unfortunately been fed and taught to live a spiritually non-experiential everyday Christian life. In some cases we've even been taught to suppress spiritual feelings and live a more cognitive Christianity. How many sermons in the US or in the West have you heard preached on how we can encounter and practice the manifest Presence of God? Yet, God is patient with us and is renewing His bride, increasing the longing and yearning in our hearts for Him. MORE LORD is our cry! Give all of us a fiery passionate love for You Lord God!
